Paris, March 2023
This inspiring, three-day trip focused on Medieval Gothic Art and 19th Century French painting. We visited Musée Cluny, Notre Dame and the Gothic jewel, Sainte-Chapelle. We studied 19th Century painting in the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Museum of Modern Art and Pompidou Centre and visited Musée Delacroix, the former home of the great Romantic painter Eugene Delacroix.
Venice, May 2023
We spent our days in Venice, walking around the city, enjoying the cafes, shops and restaurants between our visits to some of Europe’s greatest buildings: the Doge’s Palace, Basilica of S. Marco, Sta. Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and S. Zaccaria. We also visited the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Guggenheim Collection. We made a day trip to Padua to see Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel and the Basilica di Sant’ Antonio. Finally, we relaxed in the Orto Botanico founded in 1545, the world’s oldest botanical garden.
Madrid, November 2023
Our five-day study trip to Madrid was a tremendous success. We stayed in the historic centre of Madrid, close to the Golden Triangle Quarter of Museums and visited the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. We also visited Plaza Mayor, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando and Jardín Botánico de Madrid. One of the highlights of the trip was a trip to Toledo, a city rich in medieval Arab, Jewish and Christian culture.
